Identifying and transcending suffering into happiness and peace... 1. mind"You Are Not Your Mind" Claiming to end the suffering but creating more of it, paradoxically, the mind acquires the top place in our list. A majority of our suffering comes from our own lost, blinded and poorly conditioned mind. It is like a child, doing things, thinking they'll give you happiness and peace that instead wind up hurting you. Then it does things to protect you, that wind up hurting you even more. Take day to day thinking for example. More often you'll find the mind judging, complaining, blaming and fearing; in a state of reaction to the environment. Yet the mind claims that it is an absolute necessity for your survival. But on diving deep within yourself you'll find it's basically useless. It has outlived its usefulness and with time it has grown enough power to control you, you live in an illusion that you are controlling it. 2. lack of presence
The mind perceives present moment awareness as of no use. It throws all kinds of stories, explanations and beliefs when the topic arises. It discards it like crazy. "I already know that", "It is of no use", "What's the point of it", it says. But my friends let me tell you this. The present moment is absence of mind, and absence of mind is absence of suffering. This is the sole reason mind hates you being present to the moment more then anything. It cannot function in the present moment. You can't think/ obey the mind, and be present simultaneously. You choose one and discard another. Presence is where all suffering ends and all answers lie. |
